help - struts?
feels like the rear passenger tire is bouncing independently when i drive, don't know if the strut is blown? can i replace the coilovers and fix this problem for good?

Check the calipers. If any bolts have gotten loose or came off, it can make the ride feel shitty, like bouncing tire.
If everything looks good down there, it might be your shocks are going out.

Re: help - struts?
push down on the suspect corner a couple of times, try to get it bouncing. then do the same on the opposite corner that still feels good. is there a significant difference in effort to compress either corner? how about the distance you can get it to travel easily? how quickly does each corner stop bouncing around after you stop puching it up and down?
A blown shock is pretty easy to find just by judging the behavior of the corner when you bounce it, if it bounces easy and wants to keep bouncing for a while, it's probably blow. if you bounce it down a couple of times and then stops moving after only a single rebound your shocks are in top shape. depending on the nature of the blow out the shock can be anywhere in between the two extremes, though only destined to go down hill.

Re: help - struts?
oh, theres a second question too!
yes, very easy to replace the shocks if you have a spring compressor. if you don't have a spring compressor, get a hefty/strong friend to compress the springs while you undo the cap nuts. if you go the route of the friend, be careful that the spring is actually compressed so that the pressure is off of the nut before you remove it, otherwise things can get real ugly.

Never have a friend compress and hold the springs for you... unless you want a hole in his face.... You said you had coilovers, coilover are usaully shorter than the stock springs, and they should be no tension at all... If there are tension then adjust it until no tension. If you have stock springs, GET A SPRING COMPRESSOR... RENT FREE from Autozone, advance, o'reilly, etc....
