First off let me tell you what i have done.

All tire pressure is equal.
Rotated tires.
Balanced Tires.
Camber is Perfect.
Alignment is perfect.
(JUST got the alignment done)
Replaced both rear hubs. (within the month)
No weird noises.
Less than 6 month old tires, w/ no camber wear.

The Problems:
Steering wheel starts to vibrate slightly above 55mph.
Starts to vibrate enough to notice and be annoying 70mph +
Car pulls to Right.
Car pulls to left also, or its just that my steering wheel is turned more left to counter the right pull and then the right pull is just gone for that brief moment

The pull by the way is not that bad> for example if i just want to switch lanes i just let go of the steering wheel and i nicely and gradually move to right lane.

if everything is perfect like you say (tough to say, as i did not do the work myself) i would suspect an axle. i have had axles in the past do exactly what you describe.

could be an axle or something in the supsenion is bent like said above. Check all your bushings and ball joints maybe something is just really worn out. Kinda sounds like you wheels are out of balance, but you said you checked that. Try having that double checked by another shop.

Put the car on jack stands and spin the wheels at 55-70mph. Don't worry it's very safe.

If the new wheels are out of round, the car will feel like a jalopy as you come to a stop. I had this issue with new tires. The installer balanced them twice but they still vibrated. They replaced them with new ones (different manufacturer) and the vibration is gone.

Your tires may have a defect that shows itself only on the road. There is a special balancing machine that simulates a road by putting a spinning load on the tire instead of just freely spinning the tire. There's a website that allows you to find a shop that uses that particular machine.

all ball joints and outer and inner tie rods are fairly new within the year, motor mounts are also all good.

I had your exact problem - really strange alignment, vibration, and pulling both left AND right. I had wheels balanced several times, alignment, and replaced a lower control arm that I thought could have been bent. I even got printouts from the alignment and balance, so I KNOW everything is good.

As of last weekend, I think I've traced it down to either a bent rim (if so, it's so slightly bent that you can't tell by eye) or a bad tire. If I rotate them, the problem goes away. Eventually I found that my right front doesn't roll straight if I jack up that side and spin it. It rolls fine with another wheel on it.

I would try to isolate the problem by rotating, or by finding a balancing machine like dpkelly was talking about... or jack up the front and give them a spin - you may be able to tell that way if you have a wobbly wheel.

I had a similar problem start about a year ago. Since then I've replaced:

- tires
- wheels
- knuckle assembly including bearings, hubs, rotors, calipers and lower ball joint
- upper control arms w/ ball joint
- tie rod ends

So, after none of those things cured the problem, and after spending hours searching here, I've narrowed the problem down to the steering rack. Search any model forum here and you'll find similar tales of cars that seem to have aligment and/or tire balance issues, but end up needing steering rack bushings. Replacement is a hellacious and thankless job, or so it sounds, so I bought a 2nd steering rack from an H-T user and I'm currently in the process of rebuilding it with new bushings and rack ends.

You might first try a rack adjustment, also not a fun job and will probably require you to MAKE a tool to loosen the locking nut on the adjuster, but worth a try before heading down the road of bushing replacement. Do a search for either problem for a wealth of informative threads.

This might be true.

The right axle boost tore on my probe and it was tugging a bit. Not really noticeable tugging though, just a bit "off" in terms of how it usually drove on the same roads.

I have looked at it more closely with the front of the car jacked up. It still vibrates with the car in the air and if not pushing the gas.

I believe my rear motor mount is getting old, there is alot of engine movement. Could this cause this vibration in the steering wheel?
