Help: Should I keep my 95 Civic Ex?
My 95 Civic EX has 140,000 miles on it. Just went to my mechanic today, and it needs the following:
Clutch Master Cylinder ($330)
Head Gasket ($690)
Left Outer Axel Boot ($178)
Major tune up and service ($400)
The mechanic quoted me $1600 for the entire job. I've put $3,500 into the car since 2009. I keep reading how Civics will run for 200,000+ miles, but mine is becoming too expensive.
I can probably find a cheaper mechanic for this job, but I'm more worried about the problems to come. The original owner didn't maintain the car well.
I don't have a car payment, and it will cost more to buy a new car, but who knows what else will go wrong with my Civic? What do you think? Let my Civic go with only 140,000 miles on it? I wanted to drive it for at least 200,000+.
The owner of the shop encouraged me to make the repairs, but the actual mechanic who worked on my car told me "If you're going to upgrade your car, now would be a good time to do it."

This is not really a tech question. Post this non-technical question in the Value thread at the top.
By the way, if you do your own work, the repair costs will drop dramatically.
