Yea I've done it a few times. Rather simple actually, just a tight squeeze.

oh my 96 hb, i didnt remove anything.. loosed the all bolts, then loosed the bolts for that whatever u call it by the clutch and brake reseviors, then bend it back a little without fu*king up ur lines.. then shake that monkey out! its tricky. ur going to have to do it a few times to get used to it. i didnt think it was possible until a friend helped me on it while i was stressing.. ahah

i undid the 12 holding the ground on unplugged the harness then undid the 12 on top for the tensioner then the 14 on bottom for it to pivot on
then i dropped it out the bottom and picked the new one up from the same hole i dropped the old one down...nothing but the alternator came off

First punch the guy in the face for being right..
Remove the two bolts holding the alternator in place, the ground on top, and the wire harness for it of course. You'll also need to remove the power steering and ac belts as well, unless you're just replacing the alternator and not the belt.

I had to remove my oil filter to get the alternator out the bottom. I changed my oil at that time anyway so it wasn't a problem. This was on an EG with b18 swap. Wouldn't it matter what car/motor you have?

I've got a B18C1 in my hatch and I have removed and installed the Alternator in the car many times without removing anything. It's easiest done from under neath. It's tight, but it will fit, and you can reach all the bolts on the bracket this way. A little from the top and a little from underneath and it can be done. Easy.
