HELP ????Rear Disc Conversion???? HELP

If you remember any of my posts I own a 2000 Civic 4dr. I E-mailed HAP recycling and they told me a rear disc conversion would be off a 94-00 Integ. Cost...$550 Well I was wondering if anyone out there knows what parts it takes to do the job and do it right? Help, anyone please. Thanx for the help to anyone who inputs any useful information.

I did one for a buddy of mine. complete trailing arm with the hand brake cable from a hatchback integra (length of cable), brake fluid, any brake boost and master cylinder from an integra, crv, civic ex or 2000 SI. proportional valve from a 99-2000 si. re-flanging may be necessary for the mastercylinder swap. I'd recommend getting new brake pads and rotors, aswell as the bearing. and get yourself a helms manual... have fun! http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emsmile.gif

Are you talking about the HAP in Chula Vista. I bought a GSR front/rear conversion w/ mc/booster and proportioning valve for 350$ They guarenteed everything and even exchanged parts when I picked the wrong proportioning valve. Call them up and you can probably pick up the same deal I got.

You don't need all that. All you need for the swap is the rear disc assemblies and the parking brake cables, that's IT. Trailing arm is unecessary and possibly makes you need an alignment afterwards. Just swap the rear brake assemblies and you're done. Don't have to mess with the proportioning valves or anything like that. Not when doing the swap on an EK.

You might not need it to do the swap but I would suggest it. If you could have felt the difference you would want to do the whole upgrade. Since the stock EK mc/booster doesn't push enough fluid your brakes will feel soft. The proportioning valve is important because the amount of pressure on the stock valve will make the car lunge forward. A proportioning valve off a 4 wheel disc car seperates the pressure better to front/back. You really don't need to do the front but the caliper/rotor(not by much) from a GSR is bigger and has better stopping power. Like he said, you don't need it, but I am glad I did.

Braided steel lines from Goodrich, etc will firm up the pedal feel too http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif
