Help! Razo Shift Light
I just got a Razo Shift Light from a friend. He didnt have the instructions anymore and I need some help with the install. Which wire do you tap for the ECU? Its for a 1995 Civic CX. I did some research on the internet and was only able to find it for the RSX. If anyone has any information on this that would be wonderful!! Thanks

When we did my friends light we tapped right into the dizzy......I know theres a wire on the driver side strut tower harness that you can tap into....pick up a Hayes or Helms manual and you could do it easy.......

You can just undo 2 screws and just wire the tach into the back of the tach. No need to run wires through the firewall and all that pain in the *** ****. Not too sure which 2 but one is the -ve and the other the tach. Very simple very clean.

its not a tach, its just a simple shift light. I read an install for it, but it was on the new Si's and RSX's. They tapped it into the solid blue wire on the ECU. Im not sure how that relates to the 5th gen hatches so thats where im stuck.

If your shiftlight has a pill module for it, the only thing you need to do is wire the light directly into the tach signal sending wire. The pill in the shiftlight does the rest.

I had one of those in my Integra back in the days. If I can recall correctly you tap into the wire that goes from the ECU to the tach.
I used to call that shift light "Johnny 5", as the light module looks like the head of the robot in Short Circuit, for all you young folks that don't know.

does anyone know what color the RPM wire is? I checked my ECU for the solid blue wire, found nothing, I found a blue one with silver dots, and a few blue ones with colored stripes, but no solid blue. Thanks for all the help.

Re: (BrynnTheSlut)
My bad, I stand corrected, it is not a tach. But what activates the light? I do believe it is the rpm signal, so basically you need the rpm signal to work the light right and what kinda signal goes to the tach? Guess what the rpm signal.
So what I was suggesting, is that instead of trying to find the wire from the ECU, it is much easier and simpler to just tap the rpm signal from the back of the tach, resulting in a much cleaner install, so you don't have to patch any wires that you had to cut at the ECU.
But ultimately is how difficult you want to make this install, you have 2 alternatives, the easier method, in my opinion and the more difficult install. It's up to you, just giving you a suggestion from my own experience.
