hello! i got a 96 civic ex coupe and i just took out the factory radio and installed a new sony radio.
now my remote does not unlock or lock the doors....
im not sure if i left a cable lose or didnt connect one... or if it is a part of the new radio install...
any ideas??
I got a Sony CDX-M610 i know its an old model but it was free...
also if anyone knows how i can make my ipod work with it!
Thanks for the help!

You have to retain your stock radio with a piggy-back harness. The easiest way is to plug it in with the piggyback harness, then set your keyless, then remove the face of your stock radio and ziptie it behind your cupholders.

To get your ipod to work with it you have to buy an adapter for you ipod.
Mine was 90 dollars and it also charges your ipod while you listen to it since it plugs into the cigarette lighter. (made by monster i believe? On the wire that plugs in its an oval with a circle display of the station and 3 buttons beside of it.)
Theres also one called iTrip that doesnt charge your ipod when its doing it and its not as good since it can only hold one station at a time.
you can probably find them cheap with the holiday season here. Its so much better that sorting through CDs, so its way worth it. You didnt even have to have an aftermarket cd player for it. All you need is the radio.
Edit- You can also use the old portable cd player adapters that use the tape and wire. But i highly doubt your new cd player has a tape player on it.
