Default Help with putting together power folding mirrors

I need help putting the mirror face back on to the folding mechanism... doesn't sound like much but the arms that control the mirror keep collapsing down and not letting me fit the ball end into the socket.. anyone else have a problem with this?

I suspect it might have something to do with the fact that the mirror is marked "SM4" - this is the code for an ~90-93 Accord. A correct Civic one should be marked "S04" ... also conveniently available on 98-01 Integras.

Actually it turns out that the mounting bracket for them say "SO4" because they did come from a ek virs.... the actual mirror piece is interchangeable between the chassis i believe...
