Default HELP Putting my a/c system BACK IN!!!!!!

Like the title says, I want to put my a/c system back in my car. I have all the lines under the dash still on the car. Can I still use them? people have told me that I need new lines because these have been open for years without somthing covering the ends of the hoses.. Is this true?

And what will I need to get as for as lines,Compressor,brackets,freeon....ect

Thanks

do a search for a/c. someone had a thread on ac and explained how lines that have been opened have to vaccuumed out. a shop does that.....you need compressor ,condensor, all the lines under the hood, dryer, and brackets.

yea, using your old lines is fine, the only thing that needs to be replaced is the drier and o-rings but everything else can be reused, hopefully they have no leaks.

you have to flush the lines before you do anything, i hope you have an air compressor, and an air gun. you need a bottle of flush from the parts store, put alittle bit in the a/c line at a time and blow it out with compressed air. Do that to all your lines, the condensor and evaporator, i don't know if civics use orfice tubes or expansion valves, but i would get a new one anyway. get all new o-rings, and a reciever dryer. you say your going to do it yourself so i assume you don't have an a/c machine? so u can't vaccum it down. when your adding the freon, turn the bottle upside down. Add what the label says and good luck
