Default Help: Putting a 97 GSR complete motor into 97' EK civic/ wiring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Need to hook up the IAB and v-tec wires on my 97' GSR motor. I am using an OBD2a ECU P72 that came with the motor. If i find more connectors that fit the housing that all 3 sensors. I will have six wires to play with. 2 wires, each plug. Does it matter, which way I hook them up? I mean, the v-tec solenoid will click if it is working properly. But, how about my v-tec pressure switch? i think they don't have a solenoid? how would I know if that is working? I don't even know if the IAB under the intake manifold has a solenoid it self. how do i know it is working also? I don't wanna blow the ECU. I was originally gonna find the working wire on each sensor and ground the rest to the block but, If anyone has any CLEAR answers let me know. thanks!

Oh yah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- what did u guys do with your exhaust when you did your swap in an ek h/b? I am using a DC sports header.. I have a foot gap between the OEM midpipe and heder. I have a canadian SIR catylitic convertor to put on as well. The DC sports header doesn't have an O2 hole. So, i'm kinda in a jam. Any answers?

you have to go to a junkyard and find the sensor plugs that fit in there. Then run the wires through the firewall to the computer then pin in the computer. you will also need the pins from a junked car too.
there are threads of where you need to pin the computer and exactly how to do it. try a quick search and start from there.
as for the exhuast. I think you might need to get like a randome technologies cat with a whole for the o2 sensor in it. or take it and have a fitting welded into the header.

what wiring harness are you using??? stock DX??

IF your not too good with wiring and you're worried about frying the ecu I would suggest getting a 96-98 Civic EX wiring harness. Everything should be goood to go. You just have to extend a couple wires I think, then chop the IAB plug off the GSR harness and hard wire it into your cabin and pin it into the harness.

For the exhaust I just used the stock gsr header to cat, then chopped a couple inches off my stock exhuast and welded the flange on. (with my new TIG i just bought) Bolts right up just lik stock... Only problem is it goes from like 2inch or so to like 1.5 or 1.75 inch.

But the car sounds cool as fawk... hella quiet, but hella crazy at the same time.

Man I hate the year of civic you have.. there's no easy plug-in solution for it with a GSR engine.

I'd go with the 96-98 EX harness and hard wire the IAB. Like the man above has said.

alright, i am using the stock canadian dx harness. As for hardwiring, i got some info off ff-squad. but, the main question is, if i have 3 single wires going to the ecu from the 3 sensors, do the other 3 just get grounded?
