Well I get my b18c1 in my car and it seems to run nice... got it all wired up and working great. Well the install was finished yesterday and has been running good. Today I get on it and take it to 8k. After that I hear this kinda clicking/thudding noise that sounds like its coming from under the valve cover.

My question to you is, how would I diagnose this? by taking the valve cover off will something be able to be noticed visually if there is a problem? And if not, do I use a feeler gauge or whatever that thing is for valve adjustments? and what is the clearence supposed to be on a GSR head for the valves?

i dont know the valve clearences but my guess it you might have jumped a tooth with the timing belt. did you make sure to tension it correctly? this would cause the valves to hit the pistons and that would explain the thudding and hitting noise, i would take the head off personally and see if there is anythign wrong with the top of the cylinders. There will be little marks in the tops if in fact you are hitting the pistons. Good luck though man keep us updated

Thanks I will check my timing.... I have to find someone in town that has a head gasket before I go taking the head off though...
