HELP please, two cars will not start
okay so i wake up this morning because i had to help my father whose prelude died on him on the highway this morning. so moving on:
car 1: 94 CX w/ D16Z6 motor - im not sure if the cold weather played a factor or not but when I tried to start the car it would make a loud grinding noise from the engine bay. I haven't tried to start it since from fear it could a broken camshaft or something. The car was running fine and strong the previous day though. anyone have any input?
eh, prelude runs fine now

Grinding noises are generally the result of a rotational mechanism failing, i.e. your distributor, starter or accessory pulleys/bearings. Does it crank at all or just make a horrible noise? Give us more information and we'll help you out .
Oh, and if you think your camshaft may be broken, ****** check, man! It's like 5 valve cover bolts and it's worth the peace of mind.
Edit: don't try and push start it until you clear the camshaft and distributor of suspicion.

Could be the distrubtor bearings going bad. Happened to me. But it wasn't a grinding sound and more of a screeching sound.
