Default Help Please... Distributor Replacement

Hi Everyone!
This is my first post so please go easy on me

I have a 1993/L Reg Honda Civic Esi. Recently the distributor went and my mechanic can't seem to find a replacement anywhere. I've found one though and it costs £140 (used) and £220 (new). The mechanic has quoted me £400 to get the car fixed.

Please could someone tell me the following...

1. Does the pricing sound right for both of them as I've never had any problems like this.

2. If too expensive, then is it possible for a young novice to get it fixed by themselves?

3. Do I need to replace anything else e.g. Distributor Cap?

Oh yeah, the part number for the distributor is... TD - 42U.
I'd apprecite all replies that are posted to my query!
Thanks!

Aziz.
