help please d15b8 to d15b7 engine conversion
I have used the search function and can not find info on my problem.
I agreed to help a friend put a new engine in her 92 civic cx hatchback and the engine she got me was a d15b7 out of a 94 Dx (hers is a d15b8). the TPS was broke on this one (more on that in a sec).
i got the engine in and started it and of course the idle flubbed ( different computer duh ). I went to a junkyard and got a new computer P06 (old one was a p05) that i believe was specific to that engine. I managed to replace the TPS with the old one off the d15b8 but due to my voltometer being broke (its late night cant run out and get a new one till tommorow) i cant check the voltage on it.
Here is my problems/questions:
the car will not turn over at all now. Is this because:
1) there is still a conflict in the computers from the differing cars maybe due to the o2 sensor having only 1 wire where as the 94 engine had 4 wires?
or
2) The TPS is so far out spec that it wont start at all? (I kinda thought it would just idle badly)
3) all the above or a different problem all together that one of you guru's can point me in the right direction to solving?
Please Help I don't want to look bad to this Girl <----(shameless appeal for sympathy)

Re: help please d15b8 to d15b7 engine conversion (wildwilli)
i have since used a multimeter to set the TPS. I have also put back the engine harness with the 4 wire o2 sensor on it and the engine still wont start.
If I have changed the computer from the Cx to the Dx ECU do I need to change the wiring between the engine harness plug and the ECU? The fuel pump doesn't seem to do anything now. I don't know whats happening.
I am stuck does anyone have any advice?????
