It should be clipped into the rectangular port/cut-out that you see clearly in your first photo. You may have to remove the fuse box and search behind to find the plug... or it may be higher in the front of the dash. More searching will be necessary.

Previous owner definitely relocated the OBD2 port. Should still be in the area. Just have to look

Start top left corner of your first photo. There is some kind of plug there. Look there and work around the fuse box.

OP, on your pic....left of the fuses, you will see a rectangular opening. That's where the OBD port is supposed to go. Check there. Not sure why anyone would remove it, even if the car was to have an OBD1 engine setup.

One thing no one seemed to ask.....is the car a USDM? If not, YOU don't have one.

Your car is designated for the German market. Even though it's assembled in the states, emissions was set for that country. That is why you DO NOT have an OBD2 port.

Did you verify if your car is USDM or CDM?

Okay, it appears the chassis is USDM as per the VIN you posted:

Name: Capture.JPG
Views: 5337
Size: 30.5 KB

So now, we can fairly confidently assume someone removed your OBD2 scanner port/plug. It is disturbing that your check digit is 0 and not 7 as per the decoder.

No if someone can provide photos of the obd2 port and harness to show where it runs to, that would be ideal to help you find the harness junction.

Then again, someone more knowledgeable may point out my assumption is incorrect and that it is not a CDM or USDM car. It's manufactured in the USA, but was it for a different market then imported? I do not know how to check that. That check digit bugs.....

Lots of things, Europe OBD2 is a different protocol than North America and JDM used a totally different Honda proprietary diagnostic service and possibly port. And is why OBD2 scanners that have Euro protocol in them are more expensive than your most basic CDM/USDM obd2 scanners.

And it can't be an I as per the decoder:

VIN:
1HGEJ6140WI601188
Warning: VIN has invalid check digit (9th character). Make sure it is spelled correctly! (check digit = X, found = 0)
Decoding error: VIN contains illegal characters: I, O or Q. Make sure it is spelled correctly!

And just so you know, posting your VIN allows someone to goto Honda and order a key for your car. Then they just have to figure out where you live and bye-bye car.

I will edit my photo's if you like if this is a concern to you.

Honda dealer will requires proof of ownership before cutting new key off the vin. Im sure some "other" center will do it without proof. Anything is posdible, i guess.

USDM cars DO NOT have that green plate in the engine bay.

So maybe the concern was for stalking?

I remember everyone always said posting your full VIN was bad.

In this case, it's not a USDM or CDM VIN so seems like a moot point....

Honda had cars in more than just Europe, there is New Zealand, Australia, Japan etc etc.

Each one is it's own domestic market.

Your dealership might be able to help you identify it with the VIN as I mentioned in PM.
