Icon3 help: no crank no start

i have a 99 civic i drove to work perfectly fine like usual at the end of my shift tried starting the car and no go. i had problems with corrosion on my battery terminals i cleaned it out like usual. tried again it wouldnt start so called a friend to give me a boost it and let it run for 45 mins to see if it just need a charge or something. drove it home turned it off and tried turning it on same thing happened. im new to all this still just got the car 2 months ago, and i have researched about it, and i dont know if its going to be something to do with my alternator or what. when i try to start the car no crank it just gives off a click sound thats about it. all my lights work perfectly not dim or anything just need help sucks just used all my money on this car dont have the cash atm to bring it to a shop and find out actually whats wrong just wanna know a heads up what could be possibly wrong or if there might be away for me to fix it myself.

Sounds like a dead battery. Have it tested.

yeah have it checked out, its free at autozone, advanced and orileys. ALso if you have a multimeter check the volts on battery terminals themself before startup and after, should be running 13+volts after startup. if its running and the volts don't climb I would also check the alternator.

It sounds like you're alternator is fine. If you let it run for 45 minutes, the alternator kept the car running. Your battery just doesn't have enough juice to start the car.

Agreeing with Ron. Same thing happened in my 98 civic ex. Got it jumped to run to Advance Auto and bought a battery. They installed it, tested it and the alternator. Haven't had a problem since.

The same happen with my car I am pretty sure is the Third suggestion.. that sound that you heard is the starter that is stuck ....buy a new one!! but check all the suggestion to confirm all the system that is necessary to star a engine.

Check thishttps://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/93-del-sol-s-only-cranks-when-jumped-3077725/
First-jump the car and take the battery out while the engine is on , disconnect the + and - cable ... now drive without the battery and if the car still working perfect is not the alternator..Checked

Second- Check the battery in autozone , they test the battery with a machine you have to wait 5 minutes and if the machine light GOOD and the Volts is Higher than 12V is good if is below buy a new one.. Checked

Third-(check all the grounds wires and positive cables try to tighten a little more) If the battery is good buy a pipe wrench or something heavy that can hit the top of the starter ( you need a helper for this inside the car ) while someone tries to start the car by pressing the clutch and turning the key trying to start, leaving the clutch all the way down and the key all the way , hit the to the top of the starter a few times ... and wooala the Engine will be on like a miracle.
