Help! New HID ballast, but wiring harness keep popping fuse.
Hey guys, i am new to HT and need some help from you guys.
I had recently bought a new HID ballast because my old one died, and i'm using my old harness with relay running fome the battery. It runs two separte lines to both side with inline 20A fuse (each). The problem is, when i try to start it the bulb will flicker and pop the fuse, i replace to fuse and try the 2nd attempt and it works fine. Then it pop again when i try to turn it on the 3rd time.
The spec of two ballasts are the same except the new one's input is 5A max but the old one is 20A max. I was thinking to upgrade the fuse but the new ballast seems to draw less current and it confuse me.
Any help will be appreciate, thanks .

Thanks, i insulated every wire and wrap it with electic tape. Just wondering, since the ballast only draw 5A maximum, is it safe to hook it up direct to the factory socket?
thanks
thanks

make sure your HID's arent in the Highbeam slot in the harness. Maybe your shorting something out. Check your wiring again

Thanks guys, I had just found out that the ballast is actually grounding out itself when i bolt it on to the chasis, I mount it on a metal holder that came with the kit around the shock tower . Anyway, isn't the ballast's case suppose to be isolated?
Thanks
Thanks
