Help needed NOOBIE
So I just bought my 1st Honda a few weeks ago. 97' Civic LX 4 door. Black 113,xxx miles, 5spd. inside and out very clean. I'm new to Honda-tech as well as the whole "wonderful world of Honda" and there is no sarcasm there I love the car it is already my baby and would kill n e one that tried to harm her. LOL but to get to the problem. It just started today I was driving and when starting in 1st gear right when I take off I hear like a squeek or a screeching noise not really like a belt or n e thing like that. Also can't really tell where its coming from more of the front of the car I would say. If n e one can help in any way possible and give me any insight on what it could be I would be forever grateful. thanks in advance.

A suspension bushing, the clutch, rust on a brake caliper, a mouse or cat in the engine compartment?
'97s are becoming somewhat old, and vehicles develop weird characters. My dash occassionally squeeks and I just have to smack it and it goes away.

The throw-out bearing on a 5spd.tend to make a these type sounds when there going out. Do you know if a new clutch kit was ever put in it? The squeal would have a muffled sound and when to two that I have had to replace went out I could feel it in my clutch pedal.

Re: Help needed NOOBIE
yeah it kinda of feels like it may be something to do wit the clutch And i don't know when it if ever it was changer, the 1st owner looks like they took good care of the car then the 2nd owner only had it for 2monthes and only drove it for one month so i don't think he did n e thing with it, thanks guys like I said in the beginning its greatly appreciated.
