HELP- Need motor info/help!
I just threw a rod in my 2000 SI. I am a girl and am still learning about my car. I don't know what I need to get or where I should start to look for another motor. I have a few friends that say I should just "upgrade" to a GSR motor for more power but again where do I locate this or know that I am not getting ripped in the butt on the price? If there is anyone out there that can help-please let me know where I should go. I am in So. California. THANKS

If you want to do it cheaply, try a junkyard and buy a B18B block, it's an Integra LS block. It's not VTEC, and is not as stout as the B16A block, but it should be under $500.
Or, go to Honda and buy a B16A or B18C shortblock, around $2500-3000, but brand new.
Or, just have yours rebuilt at a reputable shop, if it is saveable. By "throwing a rod" do you mean hole in the block, or just no run and no crank, or just no run?
