i have a usdm d15b block with a d16z6 head....just did a mini me swap timing is right cuz the car doesnt take time to start but when it does it runs like S**T!

-it's puffing black smoke from exhaust and my plugs are black!

-the car rumbles too

-i'm also getting code 41 o2 but it was working fine on my car 3 days ago and i replaced it in september..

-i have a p06 ecu with a rpm activated switch for vtec...

-i'm running my usdm non vtec d15b dizzy tho..i made it work/ fit lol!


what could it be

the car usuallys runs rich until after you do a swap...the o2 is trying to read all the info and after it gets all the info then it should stop running rich...correct me if im wrong.

nope i let it run for about 30 minutes and still the same
i also have a VAFC i tried unpluging it but still no luck

Go get a P28 ecu. Just because you have a MSd switch for vtec doesnt mean its gonna be right. When you engage in vtec your fuel and igntion maps change. so your not getting the full potential power out of this setup

yea but that would be in the long run...but right now when i start my car it rumbles and runs real rich ...tried to see if i had unburnt fuel in my chamber so i tried taking it for a ride.....but my car bogs like crazy and it backfires it's not driveable

Check your ground wires. sounds like your thermostat ground isnt getting a good connection. very similar thing happened to me. i believe the o2 sensor is grounded there as well.

thanks dude i'll check that out....but i dont think that's what it is since my temp guage works...and my temp goes up....

that ground wont affect your temp gauge. that is the ground for your ignition, Map, IACV, TPS and o2... not positive on the o2 tho.
