HELP MY GSR NOT GOING TO 8200!!!
ok i put a 95 gsr in my 95 ex coupe first vtec wasnt popping..turns out ecu was shot. tryed my friends b17 obd1 ecu and vtec popped but redlined at like 7000rpms. bought a jdm p30 car idled perfect everything was good vtec popped but redlined like at 7200 rpms... i cant figure it out!! i dont have a gsr throttle cable on it so the throttle cable sits kinda weird some1 plz help!

dood u def need a p72 or a chipped p28. i have a 94 coupe with a 97 gsr and im running the p28 and my vtec isnt kicking hard and it redlines at 7200 but when i throw on the p72 it [freak]in rips

when i put my friends p61 b17 ecu vtec popped hard as ****! when i put the jdm b16 p30 vtec popped [freak]ing hard also just doesnt go to 8200

idk why the tach wouldnt let it go to 8200... myt vtec is popping i bthink the tach is ok im gonna try my friends p72 and see how it works. i also have a gsr cluster that i can put in my car so we"ll see anymore thoughts???

it wasn't the tach it was the wiring had fried it.. i swapped my tach.. well i swapped the whole cluster actually, and it ran perfect after that.. just trying to let u know from personal expierence on mine..

GSR motors have the secondary butterfly valve you can unplug it and it should run fine with those ECUs or get a regular intake mani

ok I just want to make sure.. as long as you know VTEC is working and its not just the secondaries that you're hearing when you think VTEC is popping.
I just know that I had an issue once where VTEC stopped working and my redline dropped to about 6500-7000

are you getting any check lights? did you check your oil pressure signal on your cluster? double check your oil pressure switch on the back of your block. also double check your wiring harness. something might be loose. this happen to me a while back and I find out the oil pressure switch was loose and wasnt plugged in..

where exactly on the back of the block is oil pressure switch on the back of the block. left right top or bottom. sorry im new to this.

so i still dont know what to do? its still not going to 8200 and vtec is popping... heeelppp where is the butterfly valve i need to disconnect?
