HELP! MY CAR WONT REV UP!
i got a 93 civic 1.5l non-vtec for free,it didnt run, i rebuilt the engine, and dropped it back into the car. i tried to start it, it starts right up, but it wont come off of an idle. even if i give it full throttle it doesnt do anything. i checked the TPS and the MAP sensors and they both work....i took the throttle body and intake manifold off to make sure everything was on right, and its all set...i get a code for the IAC, but i dont think that it would cause my car to not respond to anything at all would it? i really need to get this car on the road, because i drive a supra now, and that thing guzzles too much gas. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Lol, that is what I thought too. It would be hilarious if he didn't connect it.

wait so when you hit the throttle the engine does not respond? Have you tried to push the throttle open with your hand on the throttle body, or just by using the foot peddle?

Well it's great that you checked the TB cable...start your car up....and turn the butterfly by the spring on the outside (MANUALLY), not by use of the cable...
What happens?

thats what i did, i manually opened the throttle by the spring on the outside....ive tried everything...i thought it might have been the signal wire from the TPS going back to the computer but i checked the voltage at the TPS and at the ECU and its the same voltage the whole range from about .8v to about 4.85v....this really sucks because its not like i dont know what im doing, this car has honestly just stumped me. any other ideas?

Make sure the butterfly is moving w/ the spring inside (that it isn't hung up) - take off the intake arm...reason why I think it's that rather than electricla is even if u let air in w/o giving it more fuel it'll sputter from running lean....but if NOTHING is changing then that leads one to believe the air isn't even getting in there.
