help with my 2000 dx auto tranny!!!
well my tranny is gone. it will drive for like 10 ft then just slip into neutral..... so i was going to replace it and i got a eg tranny.. i work at toyota and the techs said its not gunna work cuz the tranny is different cuz the 2000 tranny has more electrical connections and solenoids... i saw what they are talking bout but i was just asking if any of you can help, can i use this eg tranny or will i have to get an ek tranny//// the motor was d16y7

Yeah, an EG tranny wont work. It has to come from a '96 - '00 civic, any model with automatic transmission except the HX. The '96 - '00s have a 2 sensors and 3 solenoids that the '92 - '95 trannys don't have.

In the EX coupes and sedans you could get an automatic as an option, its the same M24A or A24A (depending on whether it was a '92 - '94 or a '95) as the DXs and LXs came with, its not geared differently like the manaul EX trannys. Si hatches were 5 speed only.
