Default HELP! EnGINE IN A SLANT.MOUNTS RIPPED OFF

Hey..

I have an ek Civic with a gsr..

I thought my tranny was Messed up.. I couldent shift.. then i poped my hood.. I realized my engine was on a BIG slant to the drivers side i checked out the mount.... It wasnt doing anything.. so i took it off...

Turns out the bolts was ripped out of my engine.......I got the pics of the mount.. I circled where it got ripped from....

Could this SLANT Be the reason I cant Put it in gear.....

ANd also.. HOW THE HELL DO I FIX THIS..

Yes, the slant could prevent you from putting the car in gear.

If the threads are still in the block, I'd chase them and try reusing that bolt on the mount bracket you have pictured. If the threads in the block are stripped, then more repair will be necessary; helicoil may work.

sounds like whoever swapped the motor didnt use correct grade bolts, instead of junkyarding used bolts spend the 30 bucks it'll cost at the dealership for some new ones

yeah, you can do it in the car. chances are the threads in the block are wasted, so you will need to heli coil the block. if you have never done this, you will need to take it to a pro, as the heli coil kit/tool isn't cheap, especially for larger sizes that you will need for the mount. good luck.

the same thing happened to me man...twas a nightmare. i was in the parting lot, and the next thing i knew BAMMMMM, CLUNK!!!! i had a d15b7 in and that same mount, the bolts had stripped out. had to re-tap the whole and add larger diameter bolts. i'm glad the motor didnt break my axle cuz the axle was turning on the motor and my dumb kept tryin to drive the car cuz i thought it was my tranny!! LOL...i'm all good now, good luck!!

I have a different theory about what happened here. Those bolts don't just rip out of that block cause you got sooo much power under the hood. I am willing to bet that someone didnt tighten the bolts all of the way and they sheered off after backing out part way. I have been a mechanic for a a while now and I have see this type of thing happen many times its always because the bolts were loose. Anyhow enough of me being *** hole You might be able to get some fresh bolts from honda, get the ends out, clean out the bolt holes using a thread tap, and reinstall the mount. It might work if there is still enough threads left in there. I would give it a rigorous test drive to make sure its ok.
