If you didn't wire the ECU up correctly it will go into limp mode and the rev limit will be set lower and ****.

Re: help minnie probs (BauleyCivic)
the car was originally an ex but the person I bought it from hydrolocked the engine. I had a spare d15 so I decided to use it until I got the d16 sleeved.
so the wiring was already there I just reused the head on the other block.
the ignition has a external coil (msd) and it also has a bbk 62mm throttlebody.
If the car is not in gear and I rev it there is no problem. It only happens when I am driving mainly when I floor if I am below 5,000 and when I hit 5,000even If I am at half throttle. thanks for the help.

Re: help minnie probs (superls92)
maybe the coil or igniter... or TPS? I know the time when the igniter on my d16 went bad, the tach would jump all over the place.... Any CEL?

sounds about right, as Vtec engages at 4700 (I think) on the p28
