a sprung hub clutch disc will allow for some slippage during hard engaging
it's hard to explain, but if you were to look at the disc, you would see.....the hub on the clutch where the tranny splines slide into, will give a little bit to be easier on the tranny and so it isn't hard on drivetrain...I could make a huge writeup, but this shou;d make sense
an unsprung hub is basically on or off...not very forgiving
all Honda OEM clutched are full faced discs...meaning the clutch disc makes a complete contact with the pressure plate
a 6 puck clutch for example, is like cutting away at the full faced disc so there is a smaller amount of area coming into contact with the pressure plate. This way, More pressure is applied because the surface area of the disc making contact is smaller..
a 4 puck clutch will grab harder than a 6, etc.
A 5 puck clutch would look like a flower with 6 petals aawwww...how pretty

I appreciate the response, but pretty well know the basics you explained. I'm not wanting an explination of the things I mentioned, just that thread. Thanks though!
This thread gave references to specific manufacturers. I remember alot of talk about the clutchnet clutches.

Re: (jwn7)
I searched words like "clutch faq" "clutchnet" "clutch thread" all with Rocket set as the user. I even searched the member list to make sure it wasn't rocket1 or some ****.
Thankyou though
