Help me decide........
I was gonna buy a B18C4 in Feb costing £1800 but a B16A2 has come up for £500.
i want my car to be a street racer but i also wanna take it down the 1/4 mile and not be totally humiliated. the HP is around the same for these 2 engines, could anyone tell me which has the better tuning potential? would i be likely to get 200 BHP out of the B16A2?
Thanks

ok first
BHP is a manufacturer term that you will never be able to measure unless you put the engine on an ENGINE dyno. not a car dyno. so if you want 200 Whp each engine is just as capable and will cost relativley the same to get there.
second, the GSR (or C4) motor has better potential because it has more torque.
the b16 is known as a torqueless wonder.

A hybrid combination may not be his best choice. (Eventhough it is my favorite choice. ) He may not be looking to build/put together an engine.
If I had to choose between those - I would opt for the B18C engine. More displacement is always nice.

thanks, i think i'd like more torque so the b18c will probably be the better option for me, im kinda a newbie to engines so the b20 build up wouldnt be too good for me but thanks for the suggestion. cheers
