!!Help!! May have blown either my tranny or clutch...(just happed 10 minutes ago)
So while in the middle of a speedshift I all of a sudden could not get it into gear. Then I had to match revs just to get my car into any gear so I could drive. At first the clutch pedal gave me a little bit of play, as I hit the clutch pedal (while in neutral) and tried to place the car into first it would grind as the gears came in contact with each other.
I decided to get the car to my shop. By the end of the drive, the clutch pedal now was impossible to even get any pedal movement. I can still match revs and blip the throttle to get it in gear. When the car is off the car shifts into the gears smoothly... Sorry this whole post seems garbled, its midnight, I have to be awake in 5 hours to go to work.
In short... do you guys think I grenaded my tranny or my clutch... thanks
Andrew
**EDIT**
And the pics of the outcome (CLUTCH BLEW)

it doesn't sound like the clutch to me maybe the throw out bearing is messed up or jammed or it could be your transmission. Sounds like the tranny syhcronizers arn't working to good. check both of them first.

If you cant move your clutch and its hydraulic...I would guess the lever for the clutch plate is bent or wedged possibly, as for the gears...Ive bent two shifting forks speed shifting. good luck

Re: (EVILhatch)
Clutch maybe. WE need more info. Hydro or cable?
By brothers LS vtec wouldn't go into gear and I had to rev match putting it in. and the clutch pedal wasn't doing anything. I changed the fluid in the Clutch cylinder and what do you know it worked. start small. Even if the fluid didn't work . At least its all cleaned.
This is assuming you have a Hydro. On my 200sx Se-R When I broke the clutch disk. It would rev real high and not got in i wouldn't need to rev match. But when I broke the clutch fork. the pedal hit the ground and wouldn't come back up.
I am assuming you have hydro. So go and change the clutch fluid (using regulars brake fluid) and tell us how it went. I had to bleed the whole system. just changing the fluid will only put new fluid in. You want to press new fluid through the whole system.

Re: (B18C1 '96 Coupe)
Ok guys Im at work now... Well we've got a busy day ahead of us at the shop so I may not beable to actually drop the tranny untill tomorrow afternoon. But I will go out and check my fluids. But I highly doubt its that simple.
I could literally be in 3rd or 4th gear and press the clutch in and it would barely release if at all into neutral. Would a bent shift fork mean a new tranny? Hopefully its just the clutch or something else.
BTW...I need to drop the shift linkage to drop the tranny correct?
