u should check for any hoses that can be loose something maybe on the intake cuz my car was like that when i did my swap and it turned ot to be a hose inback of the intake manifold that wasnt connected

I'm not sure but maybe having the fuel pump directly connected to a source is causing it to draw more amps then normal thus pump more fuel?

no it goes back down on my gauge when the car is started , that wouldnt do anything to my idle?

Check to make sure your thottle cable isn't a hair too tight.

if the fuel pump aint coming on check the fuse and the main relay? and for a the high idle check for a vacum leak..

first off, are you getting a check engine light? if so, what code or codes are flashing?
