Default Help with JDM P30 ECU

I bought a JDM P30 ECU from ebay, an it relized when i got it. It was for an automatic an i was wondering if any one here knows how to covert it to a manual or can point me to some tutorials that can show me how to convert it. I know how to convert a P28 for a manual but couldn't find out how to do it for the P30. so now im here.

JDM Auto to Manual:
Firstly remove the back cover of the ecu,
check on the back side in the middle side corner of the ecu. You'll find RP18 there.
you'll need to lower the value from 2.4k ohms to 1.4k ohms. There is no need to chip the ecu,etc to engage vtec.Do the conversion only and you'll hear vtec.Don't forget, redline is 7800,not 8200 rpm.
Vtec will kick in around 5600-5800 rpm.

Ok, i took the back off the ecu. an i have found the 2.4k resitor. where can i find the surface mount resitor like the 2.4k but in a 1.4k. or can i just use a regualer type resitor. I was looking at radioshack.com an i couldn't find a 1.4k but i found a 1.5k but im guessing i need the 1.4k.

you'll have to go to a technician, there you can find it easily. The 1.5k is good, you didn't understand the values. You need a resistor value that varies between 2.4 to 1.4 k ohms.So the 1.5k ohms is a good one.you should use the same type resistor as others will not fit the location, too small location.
