Help with a jdm b16a swap
My idle is all messed up. It goes up and down between 1500 to 2500. I switched my idle control valve and it didn't do a damn thing. What else could it be?

Is your check engine light on? If so, put a paper clip in the small two wire connector down by the ecu. And then, count the number of times it blinks.
Long blink = 10
Short blinks = 1
Then look up the code at the top of the forum. If you are throwing multiple codes, there will be a brief pause in between flashes.

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak, so check all your vacuum lines and if they are fine then it could be the Fast Idle Thermo Valve (FITV). Its around the t/b and its notroious for vacuum leaks. There is a write up somewhere on HT on how to try an fix the FITV before resulting to buying a new/used one. Try searching for FITV fix.

Re: Help with a jdm b16a swap (97mini-me)
I checked my engine codes and it is throwing a idle air control valve number so the only thing that I can come up with is that the one Car Quest sold me was bad. It was also throwing a MAP sensor code, if that means anything.
