Default help on installing type R lip

I just got the ebay front and rear type R lip kit for my EG. I want to know what I am doing before I start. The lips are made out of abs plastic which doesnt give too much.
I test fit it today and everything lines up fine (dimentionally) but the sides have somewhat of a gap, I pushed on the gap, and it fit flush, but the abs plastic is strong and i dont think 3m tape will hold it.

Basicall has anyone installed a type R replica lip kit on an eg??

you can set the lip out in the sun for a while and it will soften up. i will be doing the same process in a week maybe.

i had a problem installing the mugen lip i got from ebay on my eg. there wasnt enough abs plasitc to go around the driver side bumper. i tried the hair dryer and it did bend the lip more, but it made it too weak. i ended up just throwing it away.

here's a pix of the problem i had...

you might want to take some pix. it might help the rest of us. good luck.

For that white hatch, do you plan to paint the side skirts and front lip to match the rear lip? It looks kind of weird with the side skirts black but that rear lip being white. Looks like the rear bumper is hanging too far down.

hey i just got the same style front & rear lips (for a '00 hatch) - that i will get painted with a new OEM bumper (from a&h) and a oem si grill. I plan on dropping the parts off to be painted to match my paint code. I was wondering can i take off the side skirts too (for a few days) & still drive my car around? lol sounds kinda silly but i am serious, somebody letme know what you think - thanks Greg
