Default HELP: Idle Problems....

Alright I finally had some time this Christmas break and finally finished my 5spd conversion on my 98 Civic EX. Before I tell you guys whats going wrong, I have a d16y8 and swapped the auto tranny with a y8 5spd tranny. I also installed a Brand New OEM Flywheel and Brand New ACT HD00 Clutch kit. I havent swapped the auto manifold with a 5spd one yet, which is causing the problem (i think). Im also still using the auto Harness with a 5spd ECU. Ok, now for the problem, my idle stays at 2K rpm and then after 20 secs. it drops to 1.2K rpm and goes back up 2K. Then It just keeps jumping up and down. My brother and I test drove it and everything was good except that damn weird idle. Oh and yes, my Check Engine Light is on. I was wondering if there is any other way to fix this idle problem other than having to convert my intake manifold/harness to a 5spd or swapping the whole intake manifold with a 5spd? I was once told that I could lower or make the idle higher by turning the screw on the IACV or something like that. Is this true? Thanks in advance people.

go get a 5spd IM. I think the auto y8s IMs are different. im running a 5spd y8 mani on my z6 and I dont have any problems...

other than that...these are the things you should check for bad idling : vacumm leaks, pcv valve, throttle cable being too tight, and or idle air screw adjusted too high...having too much air going in. turn it down.

You are right, but the idle screw is not located on the IACV. Its located on the top side of the throttle body look for a big (-) sign on the throttle body. turn right to lower and turn left to higher the air volume. Best bet is your auto y8 mani because i've read something about not being able to use a auto y8 mani on a 5spd. but im not sure what the problem was. compare it to somebody else's y8 mani and see whatsup.

I already know that the auto intake manifolds are different from a 5spd. On the 5spd intake manifold, the IACV is located behind the intake manifold and the auto IM has the IACV on the TB. This only applies to the intake manifolds on 96-00 Civics with d-series engines. Whats PCV Valve?
