HELP!! i need your advice Civic Swap.
I am getting a sweet deal on a d16 its an auto and right now i have a civic hatch cx and i need a little bit more power to make it interesting i figured that since its light already it would be a good swap, The question is... What kind of Ecu would i need to use. I'm pretty sure i could use the stock cx tranny, and i already got a clutch for the engine. People that have done this swap before this is where you come in.

it would be better, and you could definately work with it. i love SOHC but many people on here are going to tell you go B series or K, not realizing that most people are on budgets. just watch the posts.
oh and as for the ECU, generally you go with the same ecu as the head. so d16y8 head, y8 computer, z6 head, z6 computer, get it?

You need to get a P28. It's the ECU from the 92-95 EXs and Sis.
Your transmission will bolt right up with no problems.
Edit: My mistake, I had assumed you had gotten a D16Z6, which uses the P28 ECU. I'm not sure what ECU to use for the Y7 or Y8.

What year is your car?
if it's 92-95 then you can more than likely have your ECU chipped. If it's OBD-II (96+) then you won't be able to get it chipped.
Couple questions:
-What year is your car?
-What is the entire engine code of the engine you are going to buy?

wouldnt waste my money that one. just look around and youll find a good deal on a complete one. the power difference between the one you have now, and the one youll about to put in with the cx transmission, will not be noticeable.
