Help: how to install a DIY chip from phearable.net
My Specs:
93 Del Sol
D16z6 P28 OBD-1
Ok i havent gotten it yet, it should be arriving soon. I searched and nothing came up with a how to.
It looks like it comes with all this stuff in the picture:
Will the stock chip just pop out? How easy is the install? Should I take it to a shop? Never removed or replaced ECU chips before. Thanks for the help.

Its not hard, just practice on some old motherboard til you get the handle of desoldering and soldering. All it is is temp, you dont want to burn anything.
Heres a how to to chipping. Just put what your getting in the mail where they told you and your set.

Edit: Just noticed that they dont show you were to put the datalogging (the white piece in your picture). See that 5 spots of solder in the white rectangle. You desolder those 5 and solder in the datalogger and your set. Just jump J1

Thanks Luserkid!
Ok it came in the mail today. Those Links helped alot. Just a few more specific questions. What am I supposed to use at R54? am I supposed to use this wire tan in color with brown, black and red bands? And the capacitator (tan colored, markings: K5M, and on the otherside; 104) am I supposed to solder this at C51? Aslo how do you "jump" J1. Take some wire solder it to the J1 hole and then solder the wire to the R54 Hole?? And there are 5 holes where the datalogger is supposed to go but on the datalogger itself, there are only 4 prongs. How should i fill in the holes with the prongs, left to right? right to left? left to right sounds right but im just making sure. Oh and how the datalogger be positioned? for instance, the side exposing most of the prongs should face inward toward the rest of the board? Wow I am annoying. Thanks for all your help

Use the capacitor that you mentioned. The one with red/blk/brown strips.

Yes, to C51 and C52.
Edit: Actually you dont need to solder those, i looked at my ecu and some others and those werent soldered in.

Any of the capacitors you put into the ecu the legs will be to long. Cut the legs and that piece just put one end in one side of J1 and another to the other.

1-4, leave 5 alone and have the backing to the ecu wall (so the wires are facing towards the ecu)
