Help! How do i remove my door handles?

Default Help! How do i remove my door handles?

Car in question is a 00 hatch. Ok so im scrambling to get some parts to the paint shop tomorrow and ive run into some problems. i removed these two screws (pic taken from inside door panel)

will i have to disassemble that whole locking mechanism thing? i dont even know where to start after this. can anyone help me out?

also how do i get my rear license plate holder off?

im guessing its that but its not unscrewing. i got the two screws off at the top.

i need help asap because im trying to finish all this up by tomorrow. thanks in advance guys

On my 93 hatch, you have to pull a pin straight off that holds the lock to the handle. It is probably the same with this gen too.

hmmm thanks for that bit of info. could you possibly tell by looking at the pic i posted?

I can't see it in that pic. Mine is a little different. It might be behind that plate
around the lock- inbetween that and the handle. If you didn't notice it, it must be different the the 92-95 gen, since theirs is pretty noticeable. It is like a box shaped pin with one open end and it slides around both side of the lock and clips into place. It could be different though, so sorry if this doesn't help.

If I can remember correctly you've taken all the boltss off right, I think there is some doublesided tape holding it together. Should be at the top side of the lic plate holder frame. hope this helps
