Re: HELP!!! Horn relay for 97 honda civic ex!!
Wife, in the living room: "What were you doing out there?"
Me, in the kitchen: "Looking for the horn relay in my Civic."
Wife: "**** relay!?!?!? In your car?!?! No wonder you spend so much time on it!!!"
Me: "No honey, HORN relay, with an H."
Wife: "Oh, I thought you said '****'."
True. You can't make this stuff up.

The fuse box diagram should be the same for all '96-'00 Civics (at least in the US and Canada and possibly elsewhere).
The question about the muffler you should post elsewhere. It doesn't belong in this thread.

Re: HELP!!! Horn relay for 97 honda civic ex!!
I am having a problem with my horn as well, I just purchased a 1998 Honda Civic EX with a rebuilt motor. There are a few things that do not work like the a/c, cruise control, and the horn. When I push the horn button I can hear a clicking in the dash. I have no idea where to start, any help would be appreciated.

Re: HELP!!! Horn relay for 97 honda civic ex!!
^^ In your case the clicking is the horn relay... should be fine. Test your horn, next.... but watch your ears, those things are LOUD.
If CC doesn't work ... nor the horn ... I would say the clock spring might be bad, but if the horn relay works.... might not be the clock spring. Hmmm.

Re: HELP!!! Horn relay for 97 honda civic ex!!
In a 94 Civic, if horn does not work:
1. Check fuse under hood.
2. Check if Cruise Control doesn't work either/SRS airbag light is on. If it doesn't/airbag light on, clock spring needs replacement. Get cheap used one on ebay. Be careful removing Dside airbag, refer to forums or Haynes manual for disabling and removal of airbag.
3. If otherwise: If you hear a clicking sound when horn button is pressed form the dash, remove horn.
Horn is attached with one bolt to radiator support behind bumper, front of radiator. Tight squeeze, but reachable without removing bumper.
Once detached, unplug, connect directly to battery using wire. If it sounds, harness was probably loosely connected, or there's a cut in the line somewhere.
4. If doesn't sound, replace horn.
5. Enjoy.
