Help!..Horn blows when headlights are on!!!!
Need help with an odd problem. I have a 95 Del Sol SI and when I got into my car the other day and turned on the lights the horn started to blow. Totally freaked me out! I had to disconnect the horn, and I hate not having a horn. I haven't done any work on it recently. I did leave the lights on and the battery ran down that day, because the dinger doesn't work when you leave them on, but other than that nothing out of the ordinary.
I checked Mitchel's wiring diagram and it shows that there are no shared wires or components with the headlights and horn.
Any ideas??? I really want my horn back!

Now that you mention, the previous owner did say that it had one, and gave me a key fob for it, but I have never tried to get it to work. Short circuit?

No to both your questions jbpnoman, when the lights come on the horn blows till you turn them off. I think you're on to something Ronj, I'll find the alarm and disable it.

I agree with disconnecting the alarm as well. While it is possible that there is a short in the wires and your horn and headlight wires are touching each other it's more likely that the short is in the alarm somewhere. That said, the alarm should only be wired into the park lights not the headlights so the horn is probably blowing if you turn your light switch to the first position, otherwise it would probably start blowing when you were driving around with the DRL's on only. Turn on the hazard lights and see if that causes the horn to blow as well.

Thanks for your help guys! RonJ nailed it. I uninstalled the alarm and problem solved. And it also solved the problem with my door lock switch not unlocking the doors...an added bonus that I'm stoked about.
