Re: help help need a motor (I-luv-myej)
You might be ablel to find a non-vtec engine for that much.. I think the usual SOHC vtec engine goes for around 400 from the junk yards around here.

That has nothing to do with the pic you posted. It made no sense.
He's a noob and does not know any better, and probably does not have access to the market...

Do you see "trial user" anywhere near his avatar? Neither do I. Plus, SEARCH is in bold red letter. I understand what you're saying though, I've made mistakes on this site (namely three days ago). I shouldn't be so...assholish...if that's a word

I might come off sounding like an ******* but...you can't find a SOHC motor in SOCAL for 250?
You only need a shortblock too if you blew your motor.
You get a longblock in SOCAL for 250.
I'd check junkyard's first. Though, if it wasn't for the fact that it's like a 0% gain, I'd take a D15B, either JDM or the USDM one. I would put one in my car but it'd serve no purpose vs. the D16Z6 I have in there now (basically no difference in power. Though if it blows, I'm going D15b...I like those engines for some reason and I feel they're almost or just as powerful as the D16's...and the D15B JDM VTEC is definately a nice match with the D16's.
O.o Sorry if that didn't help...that was more my own personal thoughts about D-motors.
Advice: Check out the local junkyards. The motors aren't heavy, you and two friends can pick it up and throw it in the back of a pickup. I've even heard of people taking out their passenger seats and throwing it in the passenger side of a civic...although that's just what I've heard, never actually seen it.
