Re: HELP! header GLOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Motor is in time. So what am I looking for at the tip of the plugs? And if I'm not running the correct fuel pressure what could be my possible problem(s)

Re: HELP! header GLOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will take a picture and post it tonight when I.get off work so those of you telling me to do so please check back ASAP. I'm just wondering what I'm supposed to be looking for at the tip and what my possible problems could be if it is running lean.

Re: HELP! header GLOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am running an obd1 automatic ls ecu. As requested though here are the pics of the spark plug ends
plug 1
plug 2
plug 3
plug 4
all four plugs if you can't see are whitish at the tip which I know is an indicator of it running lean. Btw guys and possibly girls, i appreciate your help and input. I miss driving this thing and im ready for her to be back on the road!

Double check your timing, and attach a fuel pressure gauge to your fuel rail. Tell us what it reads. Does the car idle normally? Are there any CELs?

Re: HELP! header GLOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there are cel's but im not running an o2 sensor and dont have a code reader for the obd2 harness. I don't really understand timing yet, so explanation on that may help me understand what to look for. All I know is that both cams are TDC and that i need to find the sweet spot with my dizzy timing. The idle is shitty, it wants to fall on its face so to say for the first minute or so, real shaky. I assume that this could be caused by it running as lean as it is, just not enough fuel so it doesn't want to stay started, perhaps? I'm also not sure of what octane fuel I'm supposed to be running in an ls, I'm running regular 89 octane, could that perhaps make it not burn enough fuel? ECU is untouched as well.

It also doesn't want to start the first key turn, and barely wants to start on the second key turn but it does usually start upon second turn of the key.

Re: HELP! header GLOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Three things for you to do. Do them in order, and let us know what the results are.
1: How to check for CEL codes
Pull your code. That process still works for OBD2 cars, IIRC - you don't need a code reader.
2: Fuel Pressure ('97 and later models) (Service Manual)
Test your fuel pressure. If it is below 40PSI, stop here.
3: Ignition Timing Adjustment
Ignition Timing and Inspection (Service Manual)
Follow the link above, as well as the image linked above, to help you verify timing.

Re: HELP! header GLOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cel's are 19 and 6
19-automatic transmission lock up control valve (im guessing because im running an auto ecu)
6-water temperature sensor

Re: HELP! header GLOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
did a fuel pressure test and it pretty much stayed between 30 and 40 psi even under a load (i dont have a tach so i assume it was around 2k rpms).
