i have to swap out a 95 ex d16z6 automatic tranny. I have a 97 non vtec auto tranny there are 2 solenoids that the obd1 doesnt have first is a l

ock up control solenoid valve and a linear solenoid

can i leave these unpluged to run the tranny and is there a diffrence between functionalty that a vtec tranny has over a non vtec not talkin about gear ratio's. I just want the ****** to run PLEASE

man i wish i knew the difference with the solenoids, but as far as the gearing goes they should be the same or little differences, nothing major.

If the lock-up solenoid isn't functioning you'll toast the torque converter, and eventually, the entire transmission. Your gas mileage will also suffer greatly during the short time that the car can drive.

You think Honda just places solenoids in their trannys all *****-nilly like?

i say find a reputable tranny rebuilder and rebuild ur old tranny with a new torque converter... should cost like $500 and savve u headaches if u do the swap

Thats why i havnt placed the tranny in yet. I wanted to make sure.

BUT! hold up why would it a make a diffrence my odd2 dosnt have the conectors anyways. Why would it make a diffrence really. The solenoids dont have any real affect when its not connected except for pressure "via tranny fluid" man i read through the honda service manual on it and i kinda get that ill live with out it. anyone know anymore on this
