Help! Girlfriends civic is throwing a CEL.
Few weeks ago my girlfriends dad was trying to clean her engine bay shortly after that her check engine light came on. I tried to reset it by disconnecting the battery but it did not work. So I was wondering if there was anyway I can jump the ecu without taking it to the dealer.
Where are the jumper wires and how do I jump the code?
BTW its a 99 civic EX.
Thanks

Passenger side kick panel.
Little blue 2 wire connector....put a paper clip in there and then turn the ignition to ON....the check engine light will start to flash a code.
Long = 10's
Short = 1's

spade is right as usual
i had to do this on a 96 teg this weekend the 1 bit of advice i can give is. if there are no problems and the light just needs to be turned off having the jumper in will leave the light on and not throw any codes. so to shut it off you have to pop the hood and pull the back-up fuse for 15 sec.
