help!!! fuel pump cutoff switch/no prime

hey i decided to install one of those switches to my fuel pump for added security. i hooked it up and then put the switch to "on". i started the car. i then switched it to "off" to see if it would turn the car off and it did. now it will not turn over. the fuel pump will no longer prime. i obviously messed something up. i can't find a fuel pump fuse or anything.

i took the switch out of the equation and hooked up the original wires. still nothing. all the fuses i check seem ok. i don't know what to do and im freaking out. did i destroy my walbro 255 pump. or the main relay. is there anyway to find out.

ps. i dont have any type of power meter. any help would be much appreciated.

What wire did you put the switch on? My elec diagram shows there may be a 15A fuse "ACG (S)" feeding the pump 12v along the yellow/green wire. Your switch should only be on the yellow/green wire, with no connection to ground or anything else. In the future, dont kill the fuel while the engine's running. Just listen for the prime when you turn IGN on.

Re: help!!! fuel pump cutoff switch/no prime

i hook it up to the yellow with the green stripe wire. my switch is a 20 amp. and i used 14 gauge wire. which is alot larger than the fuel pump wire. after closer inspection i found a 7.5 fuse that was blown under the dash. i replaced it and now it is fine. but i would still like to hook the switch up. if i could just find out what the problem is.

i just was radomly looking at fuses and found one. i really don't know what it is becasue its not part of the main panel of fuses under the dash. its just to the right and alittle above that. but it works now after replacing it.

i think it is two things...the gauge wire i used or the fact that i turned iot off while the car was running....any advice would help because i want this to work.

put a in-line fuse on the switch cuz i think when you turned the switch off with the car running you blew that fuse amd maybe just a thought but i would try to get the right size wire.
