Help! Found metal in oil.
I changed my oil AND transmission oil on Saturday and upon emptying the drain pan, I found a pea sized chunk of metal. I am no metal expert and I cannot tell you if it came from the engine or the transmission because I used the same drain pan (dumb, I know). Can anyone take a look and tell me what it might be from? Engine runs fine and doesn't make noise. Tranny sometimes grinds when going into reverse. It will sometimes grind going into other gears but I have attributed that to the clutch being badly worn (being replaced this coming weekend). Car has just over 200k miles on it. The grinding is most common in reverse so I am assuming it may be a piece of gear but I am hoping someone else could provide some insight.
I have attached some pictures below, last one has a standard water bottle cap for scale. Looking closely, it does appear to be the tooth from a gear.

Yeah that's from the trans, not from the engine.

That one chip from the gear is not a big deal. You do need to fix the clutch so you're not tearing up the transmission.
It sometimes works to shift to a forward gear to stop the shafts from moving, then immediately throw the shifter to reverse.

That's usually how I get it to cooperate. The clutch will be done this weekend.
