Default help with engine choice

Man, I know I'm going to get flamed here and the search thing. But I have a 92 eg and it’s burning oil and the tranny is on shaky ground. I don’t care about speed at all. D16z6 is enough power. I’m new to the engine code **** some if you say an engine code please say the car and years that it’s from.

Should I get another D16, or go B16?

I’m looking for low miles newer engine.

No B18B’s? (I think… I love vtec too much)

Help a noob out.

to replace with a new d series motor and tranny max $1000.

to swap for a B series minimum of $2500 unless you get a hook up or buy somebody elses old POS.

its all up to how much you want to spend.

Dude truthfully, get a B16 because that thing is a beast. Depending on what chassis you are gonna put it in, it should be pretty peppy. I myself have a b18c1, but I know the b16 should work just fine for you now. oh the extra grand will be worth it in the end, becuase if you ever have to replace anything, you will always have the tranny, axels, ecu and head. Just food for thought.

if u don;t want to really go fast get a z6 swap. It can be had for about 500 and will last, and has vtec sense u want it. The y8 is more of a hassle to swap in but its basicly the same as the z6. u can swap in the z6 and turbo it if u would like more power and be less than a B series swap. but thats all personal preferance. id look for a b16a swap or GSR swap. talk to craftyvtec he sells nice stuff and can get u a good price on a swap. i wouldn't count out the B18B cause its a nice motor and cheap!!! and will get u running with b16s. and if u have a heavyer car the b18b might even be faster cause the torqless wander likes light cars.

edit for spelling
