Help! dx complete exhaust on vx engine
My d15z1 manifold cracked on me recently and I couldn't find one to replace it. So I took the complete exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, down pipe, and muffler off may DX hatchback I have sitting for parts. Both cars are 92-95 hatchbacks. When I got it hooked up I took the car for a drive and started to smell smoke. The catalytic converter was glowing red and smoking. I really need some help on what is happening with the cat. Any suggestions or knowledge will be GREATLY appreciated.

Re: Help! dx complete exhaust on vx engine
so i guess not a complete life saver. I followed this thread on adjusting the timing http://www.hondacivicforum.com/forum...ustment-16210/ After I got the timing right I gave the car some gas and right away it started idling high then low. did I do something wrong or is it another problem.

Re: Help! dx complete exhaust on vx engine
Tonight I made sure everything on top and under the engine was hooked up right and came across a hose mid engine wasn't plugged in.... I redid the timing and the idle stopped "hunting", but! now when I give it a little gas it wants to idle real low then die...I don't have a CEL at all... I've looked online for some reason it's doing this and haven't found anything. Do you guys have any suggestions? please and thanks!

Re: Help! dx complete exhaust on vx engine
So as an update. I have my car running smoothly once again! but the CEL turns on after a bit of driving. The car isn't over heating. So i'm thinking it's the vx O2 sensor. I have to drive kinda far to get to my dx so I wanted to ask if I should get the O2 sensor from the dx and connect it on my d15z1 engine
