Default help with driveability issue.

ok i have a stock eg ex with an exhaust, and intake.
the problem: between 6000 and 7000 rpm it feels like it's missing. the coil went out on me about a year ago and i had my old msd seup laying around so i installed it for a free fix. i dont remember if it did this befor the msd. i have replaced fuel filter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and nothing helps i'm also burnig through plugs quick. they are always gapped correctly and its not the ground strap of the plug burning but the electrode itself

couple things here that might help.

1. dont rev your car to 6-7k rpms. saves gas and this is when your having the problem.

2. are you burning any oil? could be rings. my plugs were toast from that once.

3. get an oem dizzy, with oem parts and ditch the msd setup. that might be your problem also.

if it is the msd setup could it be the box or the coil?

Thats not gonna be the problem here with plugs.

some will say one or the other and some will say both. i say stick to oem cause i have been having trouble with an aftermarket dizzy/cap/rotor. the oem parts are made quite well and it seems as if you are either getting too much or not enough spark and that is why your plugs are frying.
