Default Help! doors are stuck shut

? Both my rear doors in my ek sedan are stuck in the locked position and cant be opened. I cant unlock them with the fob, switch or by hand. Handles feel weird when you pull them too. I cant pull off the door panels without destoying them because i cant open the door. the shop i go to tried that already. Also one of the windows is acting werid now, it wont go down easy, up is no problem though, i think it is just off the track. The shop i usually go to is stumped, they tried poping the lock and it still wouldnt open. Dealership wants at least $300 per door to fix. My shop says if i pick up used door panels they can cut off the old ones to get to the doors guts. I need help because i need the doors to open because i am moving back to school soon and need to put crap back there. Anyone have this happen? what should i do? bow down to the dealerships butt raping? cut off the old panels? please someone help me

Take it to a good shop that can slim jim the door. Disconnect the battery. this way the door lock system has no power. The shop should be able to unlock the door and then if the rod has come off the handle they should be able to grab it and open the door. I would really consider not taking your car to a business that tells you to cut you door open to get to the mech. Worse case with picking the mech you might end up with having to replace the window but that is a hell of a lot cheaper then cutting a hole in your door

If they slimjimmed it with the battery disconnected then the actuator/solonoid/bar thinggy that opens the ******* door is all fucked up. Then your only option is to cut it off and replace the door panel. Or cut it off and don't replace the door panel, it's not neccessary. Though somehow I doubt your shop d/c the power when they used a slimjim, as most people don't. Though on some cars, you must do to the way the alarm system is setup.

Can't you take off the door panel from the inside and just pull on the actuator rod?

Why can't the "shop" get the door panel off from the inside?

the shop (and myself) cant get the door panel off without damageing it becasue the door wont open, causing part of it to be trapped in the closed door. i am going to try another shop my parents house this week, if they want $300 a door, i am just going to chop the panels rip that stupid power lock out and start junkyard shopping

I would think you can remove enough of the door panel to slightly pull it back and get your hand down in there and pull on the rod.

Its only held on by plasctic "POP" out tabs and a couple screws that I know you can access.

CUT THE PANEL.

You don't need it anyways.

you know there are 2 rods in the door one for the lock mech the other for the door handle. if they were able to get the screw driver in there they should be able to get to the latch rod that is if it is still attached to something .

i had the same problem because somebody tried to break in my car and messed it up. So what i did was cut the door handle off and reach in by hand to unlock the door.

Look bro, I know I sound like I'm coming off as an *******, but I'm not trying to be one. You're pretty much down to the wire here. Cut the panels, get new ones from a donor junkyard car, not very hard to find at all. If it meant opening my rear doors (if I had rear doors) I'd do it.

well i took the handle off from the inside, was able to grab the bar for the lock and pull it real hard and unlock the doors. but the damn door still wont open! i pulled on the other bar that is connected to the handle and it just wont move. how gay is that? i am about to bust out the sawzall and have a go at it. but first im having this mechanic look at it and see if there is a way to salvage the door. ill keep everyone posted on what went wrong, maybe someone can benifit from all this and avoid the hassels i went though
