Default Help diagnose - 98 stock civic, Noise coming from wheels when turning

Car = 98 Civic - bone stock.

I have this sound that seems to be coming from one of the wheels on both the left and right sides. It sounds like metal on metal grinding (as the wheels turn) ONLY when you turn left or right - When you straighten out, it goes away.

I removed all 4 wheels and took a look, but could not see anything in particular. I thought it might be the brake dust shield rubbing, but it looked OK.

Any thoughts?

sounds like your cv joints took a ****, replace your axle and you'll be fine.

Nah, it's not the axels. I know what dead axels sound like. I am thinking it is the rear bearings...

bearing usually make more of a humming noise when bad, usually. axle can go bad even when the boot is not broken, giving it a different(suppressed) sound. also a inner joint messing up can give off a sound as well you know.
