Icon5 Help deciding on a New Motor??? or LSvtec

I'm currently driving a 94 Civic Coupe with a B16a with many bolt ons all I need is Tuning, preferably Hondata.

However, I want more power and was planing on purchasing a B18C type R or GSR.

I wanted to know peoples opinion and help me decide which will be more benefitial and bang for the buck!

I am planing to buy the GSR complete block and slapping it on my B16a tranny if I would go that route.

OR buy the Complete B18c type R swap

yo if nothing is wrong with your b16a keep it build it you can make good power with that. if not save money get a b20z and slap your head on it that would be cheaper and make more power.

My opinion towards this is to get a B18C Type R. There's not a whole lot of people I know that roles around with that kind of motor in their car.

i would either get rid of the b16 and get a type r, or convert to ls vtec..all depending on how much u can sell your b16 for!!

imo if you can sell it for high, get the type r. if not, convert!

I also think you should get a b20z block and work it with your b16 head.
Really cheap build imo.

ummmm h2b....
you already have transmission all you need is the adapter plate and motor.
with an lsvtec/ crvtec you'd have to build the block to see any usable gains.

I wouldn't get the type r full swap if you already have a transmission, mounts and everything with your current B. The GSR or CRVTEC seem like good bets to me.

just swap out the bottom end with an ls or b20. Then get a ls/vtec kit. It'd be a lot cheaper than buying a gsr/type r motor, and you'll have more money in the end to put towards the motor. oh, then get it tuned.

no you need an adapter plate to mate the h-series motor to the b-series transmission... with bolt ons and a good tune 200+ would be easy and cheaper than a properly built ls-vtec or cr-vtec or a stock type r motor.

what is the point of taking out a B swap for another B swap? A gsr only makes 20 more HP, and a Type R makes 35 more HP (than a stock B16). Its really a huge waste of money. Turbo your B16.

+1 thats wut i was sayn..i was putting down 265whp on a stock b16 @ 10psi thats way more than a type R or b20-v.. but i would boost the gsr instead @12 psi with a good tune your looking at 300+whp

or you could just run more boost on the B16...

Getting a GSR and then boosting it is a complete waste of money.

Many suggestions have been good.... H2b or boost would be the route I'd take.... besides turbo you can also look into a supercharger for it too...

turbo and supercharger? h2B? why would he waste money on another motor when he already has a capable one in his car?
